The real Francis Turretin on: Uses of the Law

The relation of the law and Christ is the subject of an interesting quotation from the real Francis Turretin helpfully provided by Proki (link). Check it out!

The profundity of this thought:

Turrentin:::> "....man in his integrity and as just was under the blessing of the law; corrupt, he comes under its curse; regenerated, he comes under its direction...."

enlightens me to the intent of Paul the Apostle who wrote this about that:::>

2Co 3:1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you?
2Co 3:2 You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all.
2Co 3:3 And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
2Co 3:4 Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God.
2Co 3:5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God,
2Co 3:6 who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
2Co 3:7 Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses' face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end,
2Co 3:8 will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory?
2Co 3:9 For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory.

The remarkable thing is, neither of us, Paul, Francis T or us, knew one another personally!

Yet, however it has come to be, we are of one mind, His, one heart, His, about one business, His, which makes this point even more a purpose to reckon with in this world devils full:::>

Rom 3:31 Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

Of late TF, as I have seen, come to see and ponder the direction you are going, I have concluded that Jesus Christ is "the laws of nature, holy, innocent and pure" and "nature's God" and the republication of the Law of Moses is the predetermined calling and election of every Saint in heaven and on earth as the citation of Bro. Francis so elucidates.

Paul equally goes after this, putting it over by the same Holy Spirit, Who is actively working still:::>

Eph 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
Eph 1:8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight
Eph 1:9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ
Eph 1:10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

There certainly are many more "planks" of this foundation, to be sure, but the "correct" uses of the Law cannot be set aside but set alongside them all, "in Him".!

Thanks again for putting over another Jewel in his crown of jewels he undoubted is wearing, even now!
